2010 Bishop’s Appeal |
|
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK My Dear Parishioners,
Each year the Bishop seeks the support of all of the members of the Diocese to further the work of our local church. We, as the local Church, have a very large job to do. It is a job that takes many hands and your help is greatly needed. Our diocese is growing and our services, programs, and ministries need to respond to this growth.
This year St. Ann’s share of the goal of $20,000. We here at St. Ann’s had our best year last year for the Appeal or have consistently achieved our goal over the last several years. With God’s Grace and your continued support, we will again reach and hopefully surpass our goal again in 2010. We all need to support each other: the bishop, the pastors, and our fellow lay brothers and sisters who do the work of the Church and to help during this time of growth.
I encourage you to participate in the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, for when we freely give to the Bishop’s Appeal, it allows us to recognize that we are part of the Body of Christ as Church; it allows us to be collaborators in God’s work in the local Church for which we have been entrusted. This is truly a gift from God, and in giving, you receive more than you can ever ask or imagine. This is God’s promise and this is God’s Grace.
Your help allows us… …to teach through instruction in the faith – Office of Catholic Schools; Office of Catechesis; Institute for Lay Ecclesial Ministry; Office of Parish Life; CYO/Young Adult Ministries; Adult Faith Formation; Campus Ministry; Real Faith TV …to sanctify through priestly ministries – Office for Active and Retired Priest Personnel; Office for Vocations; Office for Consecrated Life; Office of the Diaconate. …to enhance and foster all human life – Office of Family Life/Respect Life; Office for Pastoral Care; Office of the Tribunal; Catholic Charities; Office of Ethnic Ministries; Health Care Facilities; Martin House; Migration and Refugee Services; Office of Social Concerns; Jail and Prison Ministry; Francis House of Prayer; The Upper Room.
We could not exist as a vibrant, active parish without the help of the Diocese, and the Diocese could not be as active and as vibrant as it is without our help. Please be as generous as possible to this year’s Bishop’s Annual Appeal.
Sincerely, Fr. Edwin Mathias, Pastor |
